Caitlin Clark Smashes WNBA Record in Spectacular Comeback Performance

Caitlin Clark continues to rewrite the WNBA history books, setting a new milestone in just her third game back from injury. The Indiana Fever’s superstar guard played a pivotal role in her team’s convincing 102-83 victory over the Dallas Wings on Sunday, helping the Fever improve their season record to 11-10.

The 22-year-old phenom dazzled fans once again, racking up 14 points and an astonishing 13 assists. With this performance, Clark became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 200 points and 100 assists in a single season—a feat made even more remarkable considering she’s played only 12 games so far, having missed time due to injury.

Though her scoring average this season has dipped slightly to 16.7 points per game, Clark’s playmaking remains elite. She’s currently averaging nine assists per contest, and last year shattered the WNBA’s single-season assist record with 337 dimes, surpassing the previous mark held by Alyssa Thomas—with two games to spare.

Despite her latest record, Clark was characteristically hard on herself after the game.

“I still probably didn’t shoot it as well as I would’ve liked, but I feel like it’s coming,” she reflected. “I just need to keep getting my legs under me. Like I said pregame, I feel like I’m just a couple shots away from having a really big game. But I thought my playmaking was really good, so there wasn’t a big reason for me to force shots.”

Clark also praised her teammates for their balanced attack:

“When we have five players in double figures, we’re going to be tough to beat. It would take a lot for a team to get past us. We were firing on all cylinders—moving the ball, playing out of the pick-and-roll, and our defense gave us a lot of easy buckets in transition.”

Off the court, Clark’s star power continues to soar. Her new Kobe Bryant Nike sneakers sold out in less than one minute, with fans hailing her as “the GOAT.”

With records tumbling and her confidence rising, Caitlin Clark is once again proving why she’s one of the brightest stars in women’s basketball.
