Weslie Boss Honors Late Father Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss With Heartfelt Father’s Day Tribute

Sixteen-year-old Weslie Boss took to Instagram on Sunday, June 15, to pay a touching tribute to her late father, beloved TV personality and choreographer Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who passed away in December 2022.

“Happy Father’s Day to my guardian angel,” Weslie wrote over a pair of nostalgic photos, showing the two sharing joyful moments together. “Forever your Ace. I miss you every day.”

The images, captured by the former Ellen DeGeneres Show DJ himself, showcased Weslie dressed up and her dad pulling silly faces—moments brimming with love and laughter. Weslie followed up with a heartwarming video of the duo dancing together, overlaying it with the message: “Someday I’ll get to dance and smile with you again.” The video, originally shared on TikTok, came with the playful caption, “Don’t bring ur [sic] overprotective dad.”

Stephen “tWitch” Boss died by suicide at the age of 40, as confirmed by Us Weekly on December 14, 2022, when the investigation into his death was officially closed.

Weslie has been open about navigating her grief. On the April 20 episode of her “Between Us” podcast, co-hosted with her mother Allison Holker, Weslie broke down in tears while discussing her younger siblings’ futures. (Weslie is Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship, but was raised by Boss after he married Holker in 2013. Together, Holker and Boss welcomed son Maddox in 2016 and daughter Zaia in 2019.)

“When my siblings grow up, I don’t want them to feel like, ‘[You’re] not biologically related to him,’” Weslie shared. “I’m going to say, ‘We’re all his kids, even if we didn’t get to experience him the same way.’ My biggest fear is that they grow up and resent, not just him, but us for having those memories. I’d rather set my feelings aside for them.”

Allison, a Dancing With the Stars alum, was quick to comfort her daughter. “They get to have you as their big sister,” she told Weslie. “You’re so aware of these feelings, but I don’t want you to live from that place. They’re not going to resent you. They’re going to wish they had those moments with him, but they’ll love you for sharing his energy, his love, and teaching them the way he would have.”

Last month, Allison Holker reflected on her journey since losing Boss, sharing how her perspective on life has changed. “Losing Stephen taught me so much about not comparing myself to others,” she said on the May 18 episode of their podcast. “The things I miss most about him are probably what he considered his flaws, or his quirky habits. Those are the things I wish I could have back.”

Through their vulnerability and love, Weslie and her family continue to honor tWitch’s legacy, keeping his spirit alive in their hearts and memories.
