Before the highly anticipated FIBA EuroBasket 2025 tips off, the island nation will host the star-studded ECOMMBX Cup—a thrilling prelude featuring some of Europe’s brightest basketball talents.
Scheduled for August 9th and 10th at the newly renovated Spyros Kyprianou Arena in Limassol, the ECOMMBX Cup will see powerhouse national teams—Greece, Serbia, Israel, and hosts Cyprus—battle it out in a series of electrifying matchups. This friendly tournament is not just a warm-up; it’s a crucial test event to ensure everything is primed for EuroBasket’s grand stage.
All eyes will be on NBA superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic, who are set to lead their respective national squads. Deni Avdija and other European standouts will also take the court, promising fans a showcase of elite talent and high-octane basketball.
“The Cyprus Basketball Federation and the Organizing Committee are working tirelessly to deliver EuroBasket at the highest possible standard. That’s why this essential test event is being organized—to fine-tune preparations for our national team and the tournament itself,” said Andreas Mouzourides, President of the Cyprus Basketball Federation.
He added, “We invite the public to join us and witness these unique games up close. Beyond EuroBasket, Cyprus and Limassol will also host the much-anticipated Greece vs. Serbia clash, featuring two of the best basketball players on the planet right here in our country.”
