The 31-year-old mom of three delivered a candid clapback on X (formerly Twitter) after some users accused her of going under the knife—again. But according to Cardi, her recent look has nothing to do with a surgeon’s scalpel and everything to do with shapewear.
“Y’all really need to relax… This is how my body REALLY LOOKS LIKE,” she wrote, referencing a recent video she posted that showed off her post-baby figure. “My body looks exaggerated in the other video cause I have a 5X faja on,” she explained, referring to the ultra-supportive shapewear garment.

Cardi didn’t stop there. “I want y’all to think with your brain… Y’all were just praising my body a couple days ago. Do you really think I got surgery in 2 days?” she fired back. Cardi B’s History With Cosmetic Procedures

Longtime fans know Cardi has never shied away from talking about her body modifications. In fact, just days before addressing the latest rumors, Cardi went live on Instagram to give fans an update on her journey with butt injections—a procedure she first underwent back in 2014.

In the candid session, she revealed that in January 2024, she had another round of injections removed. “I got some more butt injections removed because you know it takes rounds to get your butt injections removed, and I also went to fix certain things with my fibrosis,” Cardi shared.

The injections in question were biopolymers, a type of silicone gel that’s been linked to serious health risks. Cardi’s decision to remove them was partly motivated by concerns for her health—and, as fate would have it, she discovered she was pregnant with her third child around the same time.

Fortunately, the procedure didn’t affect her baby’s health. Cardi, who shares three children with estranged husband Offset, has always been open about the realities of cosmetic surgery. She’s previously admitted to breast implants, rhinoplasty, and liposuction, even postponing performances in 2019 to recover from surgery after her first child.

Cardi’s openness is intentional. In an interview with E! News, she explained, “It was important for me because I don’t like lying about things.” She’s also quick to dispel myths about the ease of cosmetic procedures: “When you see somebody that had lipo you think they just go into the doctor’s and like, boop, you come out and look amazing, but it’s actually a very long process. Recovery actually takes a little bit more than three or four months.”
