Chicago Sky Superstar Angel Reese Makes History with NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition Cover and Debuts Signature Reebok Shoe

Angel Reese’s meteoric rise in women’s basketball just reached another milestone. The Chicago Sky phenom, already a two-time WNBA All-Star at just 23, has been unveiled as the cover athlete for the NBA 2K26 WNBA Edition. Making the moment even more iconic, Reese is debuting her very first signature shoe with Reebok—the Angel Reese 1—right on the cover.

“Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and launching my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok is more than just a milestone—it’s a statement,” Reese said in a press release. “It’s about representation and showing young girls everywhere that they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.”

Reese’s partnership with Reebok began in October 2023, just before her senior season at LSU, following the appointment of Hall of Famer and fellow LSU Tiger Shaquille O’Neal as Reebok Basketball’s president.

With this cover, Reese joins an elite group of WNBA legends who have graced NBA 2K’s covers before her. Candace Parker made history on the NBA 2K22 WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition as a Sky player, while Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird were featured together on NBA 2K23. Sabrina Ionescu shone on NBA 2K24, followed by A’ja Wilson for NBA 2K25.

“To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me and the growing impact of the league as a whole,” Reese said. “I’m proud to be part of a game that continues to elevate women’s basketball, and I can’t wait for fans to see how NBA 2K26 brings our game to life like never before.”

Angel Reese: Biography, WNBA Player, Podcast Host

Reese’s journey to stardom began with leading LSU to a national championship in 2023. She was selected seventh overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft and wasted no time making her mark. In her rookie season, she led the league in total rebounds (13.1 per game) and offensive rebounds (5.1 per game), setting a WNBA rookie record with 446 rebounds. Her 15-game double-double streak also shattered the previous record, previously set by Candace Parker. Although a wrist injury cut her rookie campaign short, she earned a spot on the WNBA All-Rookie Team.

This season, Reese continues to impress, averaging 12.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 3.9 assists through 17 games.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be featured on the standard NBA 2K26 cover.
