Fox News Channel is shaking up its weekend programming in a bold move to expand coverage and freshen its roster of hosts. The network announced Wednesday that former White House Press Secretary and “Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany will headline a brand-new show, “Saturday in America,” debuting September 20 at 10 a.m. ET.
The changes don’t stop there. Veteran White House correspondents Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich will rotate as solo anchors on the new “The Sunday Briefing,” launching September 21 at 11 a.m. ET. The program promises in-depth analysis of the week’s top political stories, with a special focus on the latest developments from the White House.
Griff Jenkins joins “FOX & Friends Weekend” as the third co-host, teaming up with Rachel Campos-Duffy and Charlie Hurt to bring viewers the latest headlines, interviews, and commentary.
The network is also expanding “The Big Weekend Show” to three hours on both Saturdays and Sundays at 5 p.m. ET. Tomi Lahren and Johnny Joey Jones have been tapped as two of the four co-hosts, adding their perspectives to the lively ensemble format.
Fox News Media President & Editor-in-Chief Jay Wallace described the overhaul as a commitment to “unrivaled depth and expertise” and said the new dynamic roster “underscores our continued commitment to delivering incomparable coverage.”
One of the most notable changes is the cancellation of “MediaBuzz” after 12 years in its Sunday 11 a.m. ET slot. Host Howie Kurtz, long considered the network’s lead authority on media coverage, will transition to a new role as political media analyst. Kurtz will continue to provide commentary across Fox News platforms, host the “Media BuzzMeter” podcast, and contribute to Fox News Digital.
“I’m extraordinarily proud of the program, which was number one for over 12 years and built a loyal audience,” Kurtz said. “But time marches on.”
McEnany’s new program will offer a comprehensive look at the week’s most important headlines and feature interviews with newsmakers across the political spectrum. She will continue her role on “Outnumbered” during the week.
“The Sunday Briefing” will dive deep into all facets of White House coverage, with Doocy and Heinrich bringing their extensive reporting experience from both the Biden and Trump administrations.
With this revamped lineup, Fox News is betting on fresh perspectives and expanded coverage to maintain its leadership in weekend news programming.
