Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend seemed to drag the superstar during his set at the Glastonbury Festival on Friday.
The 1975 frontman, 36, who was drinking Guinness and smoking a cigarette during the group’s set on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, made a toast to himself.
‘What this moment is making me realize is that I probably am the best,’ he told the crowd cheekily, raising his glass.
‘I’m probably the best songwriter of my generation. The best, what do we say… A POET…. ladies and gentlemen, is what I am,’ the British rocker claimed in what seemed to be a subtle reference to Swift, whom he dated briefly in 2023.
Someone in the crowd can be heard saying they think he’s referencing Swift and her latest album The Tortured Poets Department in a video clip shared by Variety on X.
The Falling for You artist went on to call himself a ‘Generational wordsmith,’ adding, ‘I just wanted to remind you in the next couple of minutes, these lyrics, this poetry, I Bleed For You… take it away boys.’
Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend Matt Healy, 36, seemed to take a swipe at the superstar, 35, on Friday. It happened during his band 1975’s set at the Glastonbury Festival
The band then launched into Chocolate from their 2013 self-titled debut, before Healy remarked, ‘I was only joking about being a poet’ at its conclusion.
Healy and Swift had a short-lived romance in 2023 that quickly caught the public’s attention.
It began with them holding hands in New York City and Healy attending one of her Eras Tour shows alongside her dad.
Not long after, they were spotted leaving a recording studio together, fueling speculation of both a personal and professional connection.
But just as quickly as it started, the relationship fizzled out.
Fans also noticed the She’s American singer wearing a Peter Pan pin, something he’s done in the past to compare himself to the fictional boy who never grew up.
Many of Swift’s fans believe her song Peter Pan is about him.
In what seemed to be a reference to Bruce Springsteen, who during his recent concerts has decried many Trump administration policies, Healy told the crowd they were steering clear of the any political comments.
‘People who are watching this may, I don’t know, they might be disappointed at the lack of politics in this show and our forthcoming shows, and probably a few shows, because I always know it’s a conscious decision, and we honestly don’t want our legacy to be one of politics,’ he said.

‘In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration,’ Springsteen said in Manchester in May
Swift recently made a surprise appearance with Kane Brown, performing her hit Shake It Off at a Tight End University event sponsored by her boyfriend Travis Kelce
‘We want it to be that of love and friendship, because we and I’m not trying to be too earnest, but you can go out into the world, and there’s loads of politics everywhere. And I think we don’t need more politics, we need more love and friendship.’
Swift has been enjoying some time off since completing her Eras tour in December 2024.
She did, however, make a surprise appearance with Kane Brown, who was performing her hit Shake It Off at a Tight End University show in Nashville.
The singer’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was co-hosting the annual gathering of NFL players designed to help them ‘bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers.’
